Wine Alchemy arranges bespoke wine tasting events for corporate hospitality. Entertain, educate and reward your clients, suppliers, customers and business colleagues.

A long career in marketing and sales means that I can create a bespoke package with you. These are designed to meet your business requirements and exceed your expectations.

With an MBA I’m well qualified to understand your business. I’m also a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Chartered Institute of Management (CMI). I also have a Personal Alcohol Licence.

Most importantly, events are informal and suitable for wine novices and enthusiasts alike. The emphasis is on participation and enjoyment. All that is needed is an open mind and a willingness to have fun!

My corporate clients come from a wide range of professions, including:

  • Medical professionals

  • Universities and Business schools

  • Solicitors and the Legal profession

  • Accountants

  • Stockbrokers, IFA’s and Banks

  • Journalists

Here are just some of their objectives:

  • “I want to build closer relationships with my clients.”

  • “How can I reward my best customers?”

  • “I need something to help my colleagues work more closely together.”

  • “I want to celebrate our business success.”

  • “How can I celebrate our new product launch?”

  • “I want to do something different”.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Is it stuffy?
No! I aim for a mix of entertainment and discovery. I aim to impart a sense of adventure and to give your guests an idea of their own wine preferences.

How long does an event normally take?
I generally recommend 2 hours.

How many wines are involved?
Usually 6 different wines, but this is flexible.

How many people do I need?
I have worked with as few as 4-6 senior executives. Most events are larger and 12-20 gives plenty of interaction. Dividing larger group into teams means even 50+ is effective.

Do people have to spit the wine out?
This isn't generally necessary, but I can provide spittoons and spitting is a real ice breaker! Spitting is useful for those wanting to get the most from wine tastings or for those who intend to drive afterwards. I always advise that alternative transport should be arranged.

How much wine will people drink?
Normally, between one third and one half a bottle is typical. There's often wine left over for those who would like a little more.

What can you provide?
The wines, prizes, tasting sheets, wine details…and of course the knowledge. I can also arrange for glass hire and other items if necessary.

Am I selling wine?
No! I am completely independent and there is no sales agenda. My aim is to stay impartial and objective and to show good quality wines of real interest. Wherever possible I do try to show wines that can be purchased locally as I’m frequently asked where they came from!

How much does it cost?
Every event is tailored to your individual needs, so it is impossible to provide a standard cost. The price for the event is influenced by five main considerations:

  • Your objectives

  • The price/quality of the wines used

  • The number attending

  • The venue

  • The amount of time and travel

If you have an idea of budget in advance then that is always useful.

Can you give me some ideas and themes?
The themes are almost endless but a few popular ones include:

How to Taste Wine
Call My Bluff
Blind Tasting Competitions
The Women’s Guide to Wine
Old World vs. New World
Fine Wine
Champagne Styles
Wine with Christmas Dinner
Regional Wine Tours…

What about Team Building?
Using wine as a team building exercise is increasingly popular as a refreshing alternative to quad biking and paint balling. Instead of running around why not allow colleagues to relax and get to know each other in an informal yet structured situation?

These events can be stand-alone, but they also work very well when combined with other employee activities, for example as part of a Management Development course.
